Linux Software Tester

Atlas Technologies, Inc., a rapidly expanding company supporting the U.S. Military and other Government entities, is seeking a Software Tester with a strong Linux systems administration background. We are looking for a passionate, flexible, and highly motivated team player to join our group of Information Technology professionals.

You Will:

  • Spearhead the coordination, scheduling, and management of all testing activities for SIPR TOR trouble tickets, directing the Atlas Test Team to ensure comprehensive support and timely resolution.
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases to ensure software meets quality standards and requirements.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies in JIRA, and work with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on containerized applications within a Red Hat Linux environment.
  • Coordinate with the software development and cybersecurity teams to create test cases for identified vulnerabilities and verify remediation.
  • Analyze results from security scanning tools to validate and report potential software vulnerabilities.
  • Actively participate in sprint planning and program meetings, providing input on software enhancements, security fixes, and trouble reports from a quality assurance perspective.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of automated testing scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage.
  • Review technical documentation and requirements to inform the testing process and ensure accuracy.
  • Work with the software test team to ensure all identified bugs are correctly entered and tracked in JIRA.
  • Participate in project tag-ups and program meetings as needed.

You Have:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Possession of or the ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance
  • A BS degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • A CompTIA Security+ CE certification or equivalent security certification.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, software testing methodologies, configuration management, network protocols, and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with:
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8 Server Operating Systems
  • Linux Networking and deploying computing system architectures
  • Containerization technologies (e.g., Podman or Docker)
  • Agile software development processes
  • Bug and project tracking using JIRA
  • Software configuration management (CM) processes, including planning, change control, validation, and release for multiple product baselines
  • CMPRO Product Lifecycle Management Software
  • Navy systems such as SPIDER
  • Knowledge of wide area networks (WAN), network services (OSPF, Multicast), network management, and network monitoring is a plus.
  • RHCA or software testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are preferred but not required.
